After, we went through some brief notes from the Slides above. Please review if you need to study satire, irony, or social commentary. We noted that many current musical artists write songs that comment on social issues. Popular names that came up were Logic, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Lupe Fiasco.

The first satire we will be reading is "A Modest Proposal" by Jonathan Swift. He wrote this in order to bring attention to the issues of poverty and hunger in Ireland.

Lastly, students received a satire chart. Time was given in class to complete the "your own example" column.
