Here were some basic notes we took:

  • Described as ugly, unkempt, and sneaky looking
  • Tricked gullible people into buying fake "relics" of saints and pardons "get out of hell free" cards for their sins. Basically a scam artist.
  • Put on a false front of being holy in order to trick people into thinking he was trustworthy

Wife of Bath
  • Uncommon for her time; a businesswoman who was a seamstress.
  • Well-dressed
  • Well-traveled
  • Had been married 5 times and had "other company"
  • Social, a good storyteller

Knight
  • Honorable, courteous, generous
  • A good example, noble and wise
  • Had been in many battles and was modest in dress
